Aww, baby! Ashanti is officially a mom!
The Grammy Award-winning singer, 43, and her husband, Nelly, 49, welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, on July 18, 2024, according to a rep for the couple.
Ashanti took to Instagram on Wednesday (August 21) to give her fans a look at her postpartum body in her “cozy @fridamom shorts.”
“Funny how life’s plans aren’t always on time… lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now, but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings! This is what postpartum looks like. I’m loving these super cozy @fridamom shorts! I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby. 😆”

While Ashanti is a first-time mom, Nelly isn’t new to parenthood, as baby Kareem is the rapper’s fifth child.
In addition to his daughter Chanelle and son Cornell Jr., Nelly also adopted Shawn and Sydney Thomas, the children of his late sister Jackie Donahue, after her battle with leukemia in 2005.
