Prime Video has some exciting news for fans of espionage and thrilling adventures! They’ve officially renewed their hit series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” for a second season.
This series, created by Donald Glover (known for “Atlanta” and “Swarm“) and Francesca Sloane (also from “Atlanta” and “Fargo“), is a fresh take on the 2005 film, starring Glover as John Smith and Maya Erskine (from “PEN15”) as Jane Smith.
The first season, which premiered on February 2, quickly captured audiences worldwide and became a top favorite on Prime Video in over 130 countries.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios, expressed her excitement about the renewal, highlighting the success of the first season’s modern and sexy reinvention of the original film.
In “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” two strangers find themselves in a mysterious spy agency offering them a life of espionage, wealth, and adventure.
The twist? They must maintain a cover as a married couple, John and Jane Smith, complete with a dream brownstone in Manhattan.
As they tackle high-risk missions each week, their relationship evolves, blurring the lines between their spy personas and genuine feelings for each other.
Season 2 promises more unforgettable journeys and new adventures under the guidance of showrunner Francesca Sloane.
