During her interview on “Club Shay Shay,” Mo’Nique addressed Tiffany Haddish’s remarks about her husband, Sidney Hicks

You may recall that Mo’Nique called on her fans to boycott Netflix in 2018 after the streamer lowballed her on a deal for a comedy special.

When fans began to pressure Tiffany to join the boycott, she took to Twitter writing:

I already got a deal and I signed it way before she said a thing and its not legend money but its enough to take care of my family for min. #Facts

Mo’Nique responded to Tiffany’s tweet with love and compassion.

Mo wrote:

You’ve done nothing wrong my sister.

You KEEP SHINING! I am proud of you.

You keep doing what your doing.

You are making it better for the next ones.

Luv u 2 life.

‘I Don’t Have That Husband Of Hers’

A couple of years later, during an interview with GQ, Tiffany Haddish revisited Mo’Nique’s Netflix boycott and her energy was a little different as she told the magazine:

I don’t live her life. I don’t have that husband of hers.

I’m looking at how Netflix has opened up so many opportunities for Black females and comedy.

The comedian and actress continued:

When my people are dying, that’s when you gonna catch me protesting.

I’m not gonna protest because somebody got offered not the amount of money they wanted to get offered.

If you don’t like what they’re offering you, just no longer do business with them.

If I protest Netflix—what about all the Black shows that are on there?

What about all the other actors that are working on there?

All the Indians, the Hispanics, the Asians.

My show, ‘The Carmichael Show,’ airs on there right now.

It ain’t on NBC.

Mo’Nique Responds To Tiffany Haddish On ‘Club Shay Shay’

During her “Club Shay Shay” interview, Mo’Nique responded to Tiffany’s slick remark about her husband, telling Shannon Sharpe:

I remember our beautiful sister Tiffany Haddish did an interview with GQ magazine and this in my humble opinion is where we keep throwing each other under the bus.

You’re doing an interview with GQ magazine – I’m assuming the journalist was a white person and the conversation turned to Mo’Nique and she said, ‘Well, I don’t do business like Mo’Nique do business and I’m glad I don’t have that husband of hers.’

And when I saw that – it’s like Tiffany, if you had a husband like mine – you may not have two DUIs.

If you had a husband like mine – you may not be caught up in what looks like you could have been grooming a child.

And I say all of that no judgment, but when you speak about having a husband like mine – you open up the door.

And I’m saying to you – if you had one like mine you may not sit in these positions you can’t explain the next day or it’s a hard way to go.

Shannon Sharpe added, “Well, she doesn’t even have a husband – let alone one like yours.”

Be sure to check back at noon to watch the full interview.
