Mitch McConnell freezes during press conference

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made headlines on Wednesday after he froze mid-sentence during a press conference.

The 81-year-old was standing at the podium for his daily press conference he suddenly stopped speaking while still looking forward.

It took about 30 seconds before his colleagues took action and surrounded him asking if he still wanted to speak with the press or head back to his office.

Mitch McConnell appeared confused for a moment before he eventually returned to the podium.

A reporter asked:

Could you address what happened here at the start of the press conference and was it related to your injury from earlier this year where you suffered a concussion?

You may recall that Mitch McConnell spent five days in the hospital in March after he took a fall during a dinner event.

“I’m fine,” Sen. McConnell responded.
