Kevin Hart recently opened up about a wild weekend in 2017 that led to one of the biggest scandals of his life.
During a deposition related to his ongoing legal battle with former friend Jonathan “JT” Jackson, the comedian admitted he was pressured into taking the hallucinogenic drug Molly, which played a role in the events leading to his cheating on wife Eniko Hart, who was pregnant with their first child at the time.
The deposition, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 6, reveals that Hart initially resisted the drug, saying, “No, I don’t really f**k with drugs like that,” but eventually gave in to peer pressure from a friend, whose identity he chose to keep private.
“F**k it,” Kevin recalled thinking before he added the drug to his drink.
Despite feeling uneasy about it, he convinced himself it was fine because it was diluted in water.
“Because it’s in my drink, I’m fine. I’m fine with drinking. The night is good,” he shared with DAI Robin Letourneau during the deposition.
As the night unfolded, Kevin Hart met Montia Sabbag, the woman he later had a sexual encounter with in Las Vegas.
According to Kevin’s testimony, he invited Monte and another woman named Morgan back to his hotel room.
While Morgan eventually left, Kevin Hart and Montia Sabbag stayed, and he claims they both fell asleep.
“I did not have sex with [Montia] that night,” he asserted. “I had sex with her the following morning. She woke me up.”
Kevin also provided a shocking detail, suggesting that Montia might have been trying to position herself near a hidden camera that captured their encounter.
He explained that he never noticed her leave the bed, leading him to believe the camera was secretly placed there in advance.
The fallout from this scandal was severe.
About a year later, Jonathan “JT” Jackson, a close friend of Hart, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of extortion related to the incident.
Although the charges were eventually dropped in 2021, the case caused a significant rift between the two.
JT has now filed a lawsuit against Kevin, claiming the comedian fabricated evidence and breached a settlement agreement they reached in July 2021.
The agreement allegedly required Kevin Hart to publicly clear JT Jackson’s name and restore his reputation by stating that the incident cost him a valuable friendship and that Jackson was not guilty of any wrongdoing.
However, Kevin’s public statement fell short of JT’s expectations.
Kevin Hart merely mentioned on Instagram that JT Jackson had been “found not guilty” and that the charges were dropped.
Feeling that this statement did not sufficiently clear his name, Jackson is now seeking over $12 million in damages and demanding a trial to set the record straight.
