A clip of Bobbi Althoff’s recent with Offset prompted Jemele Hill to sound off about real Hip Hop journalism.
Who Is Bobbi Althoff?
Bobbi Althoff is a 26-year-old TikToker who began posting videos in 2021 about her pregnancy and children.
She’s now garnered a name for herself after launching her podcast, “The Really Good Podcast,” where she interviews celebrities and intentionally makes them uncomfortable with her deadpan humor.
To date, Bobbi has interviewed Drake, Lil Yachty, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and actor Rick Glassman.
Bobbi Althoff’s most recent interview with Migos rapper Offset definitely got off to an awkward start when she admitted she didn’t want to get to know him.

Jemele Hill Sounds Off
Accomplished journalist, Jemele Hill, took to her Twitter (X) timeline to sound off about platforms like Bobbi’s and the people who partake in the shenanigans.
She wrote, “I don’t find these types of interviews particularly enjoyable or interesting. Instead it just sadly points out how real hip hop journalism has been practically erased.”
Jemele continued her real talk adding, “Some of the media teams behind these artists aren’t interested in them sitting down with credible people who know how to tell stories and do quality interviews. Then they wonder why an artist’s real story goes untold, neglected or that artist is misunderstood.”
See her original tweet below.
When someone on Twitter pushed back on Jemele’s thoughts she offered more clarity on her stance.
Jemele Hill has made very valid points.
While there is room for all types of platforms, the water gets murky when real journalists are bypassed and overlooked for empty interviews and shenanigans for viral moments.
