Garrett Rolfe, Ex-Cop Who Killed Rayshard Brooks, Sues Mayor Bottoms To Get His Job Back & Goes On Vacation

Garrett Rolfe, the ex-Atlanta cop who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks, has filed a lawsuit against Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the interim police chief in an attempt to get his job back.

In the lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court, Rolfe insists Rayshard Brooks violently resisted arrest, the shooting was justified, and his firing the day after the fatal shooting violated the city’s policy.

Garrett Rolfe also claimed he was fired “without an investigation, without proper notice, without a pre-disciplinary hearing, and in direct violation fo the municipal code of the City of Atlanta,” in the lawsuit.

Rolfe, who was charged with felony murder, wants his job reinstated, along with back pay and benefits.

Interestingly, while his attorney was filing this bogus lawsuit, Garrett Rolfe boldly violated the terms of his $500,000 bond order by going to Daytona Beach on vacation.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said the ex-cop, who is facing 11 criminal charges including felony murder, is only allowed to leave his home for medical appointments, meetings with his attorneys or job-related issues.

Howard has asked a judge to revoke Garrett Rolfe’s bond.

The motion states, “Thus, (the) Defendant has clearly shown that he will not abide by the conditions of bond imposed by the Court.”

I will keep you updated on this case.
