Gymnast Gabby Douglas is trending on Twitter after old tweets written about her by Simone Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, resurfaced online.

Jonathan is facing criticism for claiming he had never heard about Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, when they crossed paths on the dating app Raya.

“I’m like, ‘Lemme see who this is.’ I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” the NFL player admitted during a recent appearance on “The Pivot” podcast. 

Jonathan explained the reason why he didn’t know who Simone was saying, “When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels, and we were in training camp in late July, early August.“

Folks immediately took to their Twitter timelines to call CAP on Jonathan Owens claiming not to know who Simone Biles was and it appears they may have been onto something.

Someone unearthed tweets from August 2012 where Jonathan was sharing his commentary on Gabby Douglas and criticizing her looks.
