It’s with great shock that I report Don Lemon has been fired by CNN.
The 57-year-old star anchor, who has been with the network for 17 years, was blindsided by the termination.
Don took to Twitter writing:
I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN.
I am stunned.
After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.
At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I loved at the network. It is clear that there are larger issues at play.
With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalist in the business and I wish them all the best.

What’s crazy is Don was on air Monday morning without a clue as to what was coming next.
Over the years, Don Lemon has had a few controversial moments with the network like the time he got slizzered on New Year’s Eve.
Most recently, there were the comments he made about Nikki Haley no longer being “in her prime” at 51.
That incident resulted in Don being snatched off the air
Then, there was the hot mic incident when Don was caught making a comment about Jon Stewart when he said, “He gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing, though.”
The New York Times is reporting Don Lemon’s interview with Vivek Ramaswamy may have played a role in his firing.
This is a developing story and I’m sure more details will emerge in the next couple of days.
