Deion Sanders shared a text sent to him by Travis Hunter after the team’s first loss to the Oregon Ducks last Saturday (September 23).
Travis Hunter missed the game due to injury, and he is expected to miss at least two to three more games before he’s cleared to return.
With Travis, the Colorado Buffaloes had an undefeated record (3-0), but when they met their toughest competition of the year, the Oregon Ducks, the Colorado Buffaloes got blown out 42-6.
Coach Deion Sanders used Travis’ text to motivate his players for Saturday’s (September 30) matchup, another battle against a top 10 football team, the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans.
Coach Prime shared the following words with his team concerning Travis’ text:
Imma read this to you today.
‘I need to play this week. We need to do everything we can so I can get back on the field. I’m not taking no for an answer.’
Who you think sent me that?…
How did you know that?… Because what?…
‘No, you ain’t ready and I care about you more than I care about this game.
You’re going to change the game of football one day when you’re healthy and ready.
Your future is brighter than mine ever will be and ever was. Relax and get healthy.
I love you, son.’
That was the conversation. I care about y’all more than I care about this game.
But I want you to learn throughout this game and throughout trials and tribulations who you are.

Coach Prime and Travis Hunter are built different.
Scoop some comments below:
Travis Hunter plays on defense (cornerback) and offense (wide receiver), and Deion also played on defense (cornerback) and offense (punt returner) in the NFL.
Travis was heavily recruited out of high school as one of the best players in the country, and many scouts were shocked when he chose to play for Coach Prime, but it all makes perfect sense now.
