Cleveland Browns defensive players Greg Newsome II (pictured above on the field in his uniform) and Perrion Winfrey were robbed at gunpoint by six masked men outside of a downtown nightclub.
According to police, one of the players was returning to his truck in a parking lot around 3:30 a.m. on Monday when the suspects jumped out of a car wearing masks and robbed him of his jewelry before fleeing in his vehicle.
The teammates were together during the robbery, but it’s unclear who directly encountered the robbers.
Greg Newsome II took to Twitter and tweeted, “It’s a cruel world we live in.”

Newsome was o the field on Tuesday for the Cleveland Browns’ three-day mini-camp.
There was no immediate sign of Perrion Winfrey, who was arrested in April on a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas.
Thank God the men weren’t seriously injured in the robbery.
Coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to address the situation following practice.
