An independent autopsy performed by Dr. Michael Baden determined George Floyd died from asphyxia, not pre-existing health conditions.

Attorney Benjamin Crump announced the findings on Monday (June 1) stating George died from “asphyxia due to the neck and back compression that led to a lack of blood flow to the brain.”

He added, “George died because he needed a breath. He needed a breath of air. For George Floyd, the ambulance was his hearse.”

The initial autopsy performed by the medical examiner suggested George’s pre-existing health conditions were the underlying cause of his death, rather than a police officer with his knee in his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.

That is when the family hired Dr. Baden for a second opinion.

Derek Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

I sincerely hope the charges are upgraded and the additional officers are arrested and charged.
