Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for the highly anticipated documentary, “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story.”
Christopher Reeve’s journey is nothing short of remarkable—rising from an unknown actor to an iconic movie star, with his portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman setting the gold standard for superhero films that dominate cinema today.
Reeve embodied the Man of Steel in four Superman films and took on numerous other roles that showcased his talent and range.
However, his life took a tragic turn in 1995 when a near-fatal horse-riding accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Despite becoming a quadriplegic, Reeve emerged as a charismatic leader and activist, tirelessly advocating for spinal cord injury research and disability rights.
He continued his career both in front of and behind the camera, all while dedicating himself to his beloved family.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, the team behind McQueen, this documentary features never-before-seen home movies and an extraordinary collection of personal archives.
It includes the first extended interviews with Reeve’s three children, as well as conversations with A-list Hollywood actors who were his colleagues and friends.
The film offers a moving and vivid cinematic portrayal of Reeve’s extraordinary life.
“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” is produced by Passion Pictures (Searching For Sugar Man, The Territory) and Misfits Entertainment (McQueen, Rising Phoenix). New York-based production studio Words + Pictures, led by the creators of the Emmy-winning “The Last Dance” and the Oscar-winning “O.J.: Made in America,” financed and produced the film.
This project is a presentation of DC Studios, HBO Documentary Films, CNN Films, and Words + Pictures.
