Federal Judge Denise Cote criticized Blackburn for filing suits that are designed to “garner media attention” and “embarrass defendants.”
On Wednesday (April 3), Judge Cote referred Tyrone Blackburn to New York’s federal court district grievance committee over his conduct in five lawsuits, citing “glaring deficiencies” in his filings.
A reasonable inference from Blackburn’s pattern of behavior is that he improperly files cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly.
Indeed, his submissions to this court have been rife with disturbing allegations against the defendants and defense counsel.
In an email to Billboard, Attorney Blackburn shared his plans to appeal the decision.
Not sure how this is at all relevant to Rodney Jones’ case, or any other case I have. This will not have any impact on my ability to proceed in Mr. Jones’ case.
Although Judge Cote’s decision was a referral to the SDNY’s grievance committee, and not a sanction, I plan on appealing the decision.
Two days after Judge Cote referred Tyrone Blackburn to New York’s federal court district grievance committee we learned of a new sexual assault lawsuit he filed against Christian Combs on behalf of Grace O’Marciagh.
