Tyler Perry Pleads With Atlanta: ‘Please Stop The Violence’

Tyler Perry is pleading with Atlantans to “please stop the violence.”

Peaceful protests in the wake of George Floyd‘s murder turned violent in many parts of Atlanta on Friday (May 29).

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms held an emergency press conference with Killer Mike, T.I. and Bernice King in an effort to encourage Atlantans to go home “if they care about the city.”

Their pleas fell on deaf ears as those who were tearing up the city weren’t near a TV to watch.

Tyler Perry is out of town, but he took to social media to let the city know he would have been right by Mayor Bottoms side calling for folks to go home.

I’m not in Atlanta, but if I were I would have been standing with our Mayor! But there was nothing I could say better than what Mayor @keishabottoms said last night! Please, please stop this violence!! Looting is NOT THE ANSWER!!!!

And listen to me, be careful where you are getting your information to JOIN protests!! There are people and other countries who are posting things pretending to be US, pretending to stand for peaceful protest, but they are trying to incite us into violence and chaos to try and do more harm!! Do not fall for this foolishness!!! Please stop the violence!
