Drake got the people going when he dropped “Taylor Made,” a new Kendrick Lamar diss track using A.I. vocals of Tupac, but the late rapper’s estate is now threatening legal action.
Howard King, an attorney for Tupac’s estate fired off a tailor-made cease and desist accusing Drake of misappropriation and misuse of Tupac Shakur’s personality rights.
Not only is the Record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the Estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time.
The Estate would never have given its approval for this use.
The unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac’s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend of the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult.
“Taylor Made” also includes A.I. vocals of Snoop Dogg.
The legendary rapper took to social media acting as if he had no idea what went down, but my Spidey Senses are telling me otherwise.
Drake has not removed the song from his Instagram account.
Do you think Tupac’s estate is tripping or Drake was out of line for using the A.I. vocals?
