Welp… forever doesn’t last always. Raina Chassagne has filed for divorce from Tory Lanez less than a year after they quietly tied the knot.
Raina is the mother of Tory’s 6-year-old son, and it was revealed that they were married in a September 2023 motion for bail on behalf of the incarcerated Canadian singer/rapper.
Tory Lanez tried to prove to the court that he was a family man and would not have been a flight risk if he were granted bail.
The motion read:
If released, he would live locally in the Los Angeles area, with his wife, Raina Chassagne, and their child, aged 6 years-old.
Upon receiving bail, Mr. Peterson’s wife and child will be relocating from Florida to Los Angeles, where the child will be regularly attending school.
They will rent a home near Mr. Peterson’s father, step-mother, siblings, and their children.
The old jailhouse marriage trick didn’t work, so Raina Chassagne is pulling the plug on her faux marriage to a convict.
Raina filed her divorce petition last week citing irreconcilable differences for the demise of their union.
Tory Lanez was convicted on December 23, 2020, on three felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion (whose real name is Megan Pete) in the foot during an argument after a pool party in the Hollywood Hills.
