This definitely wasn’t on my 2023 Bingo Card… Tina Knowles Lawson has filed for divorce from her husband Richard Lawson after 8 years of marriage.
Apparently, things went downhill fast because Mama Tina filed for divorce from the actor on Wednesday (July 26) and listed their date of separation as Tuesday (July 25).
Tina Knowles Lawson listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the demise of her marriage.
In her petition, Tina asked the court to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to her or Richard.
Tina and Richard tied the knot in April 2015.
On one of their recent anniversaries, Richard Lawson took to social media and wrote a heartfelt message to his wife.

39 years ago my sister Gwen (RIP), your best friend, introduced us.
I thought you were one of the most beautiful women I had ever met. Breathtaking.!!

While the news of their divorce comes as a surprise to many…others believe the writing was on the wall.
Tina Knowles Lawson was previously married to Mathew Knowles for 31 years (1980-2011).
From their union, they welcomed Beyoncé Knowles and Solange Knowles.
Richard Lawson was previously married to Denise Gordy for 11 years (1978-1989).
From their union, they welcomed daughter Bianca Lawson (“Queen Sugar”).
Richard also has a son, Ricky Lawson.
I wish Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson the very best as they begin a new chapter in their lives…separately.
