Tiffany Chen, who welcomed a baby girl with Robert De Niro in April, opened up about being diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy after giving birth.

The New York-based martial arts instructor shared details about her alarming experience during a sit down with Gayle King on “CBS Mornings.”

Tiffany recalled her tongue feeling “strange” as it began to tingle and get a little numb.

She went on to say her face began to “feel weird” and that’s when she noticed the drooping.

“It was like everything was starting to fall down on itself…like my face was melting on itself,” Tiffany Chen said.

But, a week after she gave birth to her daughter, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, on April 6, Tiffany said, “That’s when it all hit!”

I was trying to eat.

I went to put just a fork of food in my mouth and everything came out.

I couldn’t eat and then I was starting to slur.

Tiffany was admitted to the hospital and “lost all facial function.”

Tiffany Chen’s full interview with Gayle King will air on “CBS Mornings” on Friday (July 14).
