Teyana Taylor is speaking out after the details of her divorce filing from Iman Shumpert were made public.
You may recall that I previously reported Teyana announced she and her “bestie” Iman were separated in September.
She took extra attention in noting that infidelity had absolutely nothing to do with their split.
Unfortunately, right before Thanksgiving, the media learned Teyana Taylor had secretly filed for divorce in January saying that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
In an effort to maintain privacy, Teyana only used their initials in the filing.
What’s interesting is in the petition Teyana Taylor painted a much different picture of her “bestie.”
The multi-hyphenate said in her filing Iman was jealous of her career and fame and insecure about their relationship.
She alleges he was a narcissist who sent her condescending text messages with manipulative language about her stardom.
He would also pick fights with her for no reason and then would apologize later.
In the filing, Teyana Taylor alleges she “began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage” while he “became more and more angry” about her fame.
Iman Shumpert’s cheating scandals only fractured their fragile marriage.
Teyana also alleges Iman crashed her Rolls Royce and fled the scene to avoid a DUI arrest.
She also cited his 2022 arrest for weed possession in an airport.
Iman Shumpert took to social media and seemingly reacted to the chatter about the divorce petition by posting a photo of Joe Budden in a pool looking at his cell phone.
An attorney for the former NBA baller and star of “The Chi” released the following statement on Thanksgiving Day:
Mr. Shumpert hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern.
Teyana Taylor took to her Instagram Story to share that she is heartbroken that someone would make her private court documents public.
She also added that protecting her family is a priority for her.

I also understand her need to protect her family, but offering an unsolicited and embellished statement about her separation from Iman Shumpert just to make him look good ain’t it either.
