A man on a Southwest Airlines flight from New Orleans to Atlanta caused panic when he jumped out of the emergency exit on Sunday night.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed a man was arrested at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana after he opened the over-wing emergency exit door and jumped down off of the plane.

The man then ran across the tarmac in an attempt to drive away in a service truck before being apprehended.

The remaining passengers on the flight began to panic out of fear that the man may have put something dangerous on the plane before jumping.

Concerned passengers rushed to exit the plane while others were completely confused about what was happening.
