Ta’Rhonda Jones Talks Season 2 Of OWN’s ‘The Never Ever Mets’ (Interview)

TaRhonda-Jones

Ta’Rhonda Jones is back as the bold, beautiful, and brutally honest host of OWN’s “The Never Ever Mets,” and Season 2 is bringing all the mess, all the emotions, and allllll the “whew chile!” moments.

If you’re new here, “The Never Ever Mets” follows seven couples who’ve built relationships online—but have never met in person.

Wild, right? Now, they’ll spend three weeks living together to see if their virtual love can survive real-life vibes.

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Ta’Rhonda Jones about the new season, her approach to guiding these couples through the chaos, her fashion slayage, and how her own experiences with love and loss fuel everything she does.

First of all, I’m just glad to be back.

I’m glad they chose me as their host and to return for Season 2…

I think I came in a little bit more prepared.

This time, I kind of smooth sailed this one.

Now don’t get it twisted—just because she’s hosting doesn’t mean she isn’t giving side-eye behind the scenes!

I was judging in my head a little bit. But also, to each his own.

One thing I’ve never been was a judger. I don’t judge anybody.

Your thing is your thing… I’ve done some silly stuff in my past too!

She kept it cute on camera—but believe, she was mentally clocking a few of those first meet-ups like the rest of us!

And if you thought Season 1 was juicy…Season 2 feels like it said, “Hold my beer.”

From heated confrontations to surprising twists, “The Never Ever Mets” Season 2 is not holding back.

And as always, Ta’Rhonda remains the guiding light—offering wisdom, keeping the peace, and making sure these couples at least try to keep it cute.

But let’s talk fashion for a minute.

Sis serves LEWKS every episode, and it’s not by accident.

Ta’Rhonda Jones told me she studied fashion design in high school—and to this day, she unwinds by playing dress-up in her closet after a long day.

Instead of going home and curling up in my bed after a long day, I go in my closet and play.

I just love expressing myself through my clothes.

And if that wasn’t enough, she’s also working on a deeply personal music project—an album called Dearly Beloved that doubles as a love letter to her late mother and a healing journey through music and film.

Talk about a multi-hyphenate QUEEN.

We also talked about how OWN is showing up for Black Love like never before—with shows like “Ready to Love,” “The Never Ever Mets,” and the upcoming “#Somebody’s Son.”

Ta’Rhonda had nothing but praise.

I do love that they’re putting us in the forefront and telling our stories—because who better to tell them than us?
