Super Bowl Champion QB Matthew Stafford & The Rams Cover Medical Bills Of Photographer Who Suffered Fractured Spine From Fall

Matthew Stafford, his wife Kelly Stafford, and the Rams organization released a joint statement on Thursday (February 17) stating they will cover the medical expenses for the photographer, Kelly Smiley, who fell off the stage at the Super Bowl victory parade.

As we told Kelly, we will be covering all her hospital bills and replacing her cameras. We wish her a speedy recovery.

The incident occurred near the end of the celebration in Los Angeles on Wednesday (February 16).

In the video, Kelly Smiley appears to be backing up to take a picture of Matthew Stafford and his wife, but before you know it she backs up too far and falls off the platform, approximately 10 feet to the ground.

Matthew Stafford is seen mouthing the words, “Oh my God!”, but he quickly turns and walks away while his wife appears to rush to see if the photographer is okay.

Watch the video below:

Kelly Smiley was taken to a nearby hospital, where testing revealed she fractured her spine from the fall.

According to the GoFundMe that was set up to cover her medical bills, she also “severely damaged” her photography equipment.

The GoFundMe quickly surpassed its goal of $30k, but it appears to have been taken down now.

We wish Kelly Smiley the best in her recovery.
