Dr. Michael Obeng blessed Tessica Brown on Wednesday by performing a $12,500 procedure for free which freed her hair from the grasp of Gorilla Glue.
Tessica Brown has become an internet sensation for using Gorilla Glue in her hair because she ran out of her regular hair adhesive. Her hair had been literally stuck in the same hairstyle for over a month.
The acetone treatment that the hospital suggested to her only made matters worse, and Tessica was beginning to doubt that she would ever have natural hair again.
In steps Dr. Micheal Obeng, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills who took an interest in Tessica’s situation. He relayed to Tessica that he believed he can get her hair unstuck and he was willing to do it for free.
Dr. Obeng used a dummy scalp to test his hypothesis, and it worked.
He developed a solvent using basic chemistry, which included medical grade adhesive remover, aloe vera, olive oil, and a dash of acetone.
His solvent broke down the polyurethane ingredient in Gorilla Glue, which is its main ingredient.

The procedure took approximately four hours, and Tessica was placed under light anesthesia during the procedure.

Tessica was prepared to wear wigs for the rest of her life, but thanks to the good doctor Michael Obeng that is no longer her reality.
