Sara Rivers’ $60 Million Lawsuit Nearly Tossed
Sara Rivers, best known from “Making the Band 2” and her time in Da Band, just saw nearly all of her $60 million lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs dismissed in court.
On Thursday, Judge Jed Rakoff ruled to throw out 21 of her 22 claims, including accusations of racketeering, assault and battery, false imprisonment, and forced labor.
Those claims were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be refiled.
What Sara Rivers Alleged Against Diddy
Sara Rivers filed her lawsuit earlier this year, accusing Diddy of sexually harassing and groping her during the filming of “Making the Band 2” in the early 2000s.
According to her complaint, Diddy cornered her in a recording studio and touched her inappropriately.
She also alleged that when she rejected his advances, he retaliated by blackballing her in the music industry and limiting her opportunities to advance her career.

Judge Tosses 21 Of 22 Claims
On Thursday, Judge Jed Rakoff ruled to dismiss 21 of the 22 claims in Rivers’ lawsuit, including accusations of racketeering, assault and battery, false imprisonment, and forced labor.
These claims were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be refiled.
The only remaining claim accuses Diddy of violating New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Protection Act.
Judge Rakoff said he would wait on an appellate court’s decision before moving forward with that count.
Diddy’s Attorney Responds
Diddy’s legal team quickly celebrated the decision. His attorney Erica Wolff issued a statement saying:
From the outset, we have said these claims were meritless, time-barred, and legally deficient.
The Court agreed, finding no legal basis to allow them to proceed.
We are pleased the Court carefully analyzed and swiftly dismissed these baseless claims.
Sara Rivers Responds To The Ruling
Sara Rivers did not stay silent after the decision.
She took to Instagram to share her thoughts, making it clear she is not backing down:
Today the courts dismissed some of the claims, but not all of them, the most serious and personal claims.
Sexual assault on Mr. Combs, it remains very much a lie, y’all, this fight was never about headlines.
It’s about truth, accountability, and justice for me and for every other survivor that has been told they should just give up.
I will not be silenced and I will not be intimidated, and I will see this thing through.
Thank you to everyone that is standing with me. The jury continues.
Oh, and don’t think because y’all got all that unlimited amount of baby oil that y’all going to slide through this. Come on.
And for those that have been trying to defame me with those false stories, the truth will be coming.
Best believe that.

What’s Next For Diddy
While this dismissal is a major step in Diddy’s favor, he still faces dozens of other civil lawsuits tied to sexual assault and harassment allegations.
He was also convicted on lesser federal charges of interstate prostitution last month.
His sentencing is scheduled for October, and he could still face several years in prison.
For Rivers, the fight is not over.
With one claim still standing, she has vowed to continue seeking justice, and her public statements suggest she has no plans of backing away quietly.
