Sanaa Lathan is set to star as the infamous psychic Miss Cleo in a new drama series, where she will also serve as executive producer.
Miss Cleo, whose real name is Youree Dell Harris, garnered a nationwide cult following on the Psychic Readers Network, a popular telephone hotline that later came under fire for its alleged deceptive practices.
The famed TV psychic passed away in July 2016 at the age of 53.
The “Miss Cleo” project, under development with Legendary Entertainment, is described as a darkly comedic drama inspired by the true-life story of the star of the psychic pay-per-call service.
It will explore how her infamous rise gave way to a contentious court case by the government involving upwards of $500M.
The series is expected to be shopped to streamers and broadcasters.
While waiting for this project, I highly suggest you check out Max’s “Call Me Miss Cleo” documentary.
I’m here for anything Sanaa Lathan is serving – even Miss Cleo. How about you?
