Ruby Rose Exits CW’s ‘Batwoman’ After One Season

Ruby Rose is putting a condo on her wrist and she is cashing out of the CW’s hit series, “Batwoman.”

The model-turned-actress made the announcement on Tuesday.

I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season.

This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles.

This news comes as a complete shock considering the big tah-do she made when she was cast to play the first openly lesbian superhero.

She gushed:

The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream.

This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different.

Thank you everyone. Thank you God.

You may also recall Ruby quit Twitter for a bit after receiving backlash because some fans felt she wasn’t qualified to play a lesbian nor was she Jewish like Batwoman/KateKane.

Now, The CW will have the task of recasting the lead role in their show that has already been renewed for a second season.

Maybe Ruby Rose is just having a hissy fit and will change her mind after thinking it over.

Your thoughts?
