Social media influencer Raymond Harper, widely known as Rolling Ray, has passed away at the age of 28.
A spokesperson from Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed Ray’s passing was reported on September 3.
Ray, who built a massive following with his unapologetic personality and unforgettable catchphrases, quickly became a household name in online culture.
With over 445,000 followers on Instagram and more than 7,800 followers on TikTok, Ray’s impact reached far beyond the screen.

Ray’s mother confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, while his cousin, Coolest Kishia, poured out her grief in emotional Facebook posts.
One read:
“I f**king hate it here why cuz 💔💔, why u leave me like this 💔. my favorite 💔. how can I heal from this pain 💔💔💔. ray ray I love you.”
In another message, she added: “I am sitting in my room with tears rolling down my cheeks 💔💔. I am so heart broken 💔. I don’t have words for this right now.”
From Viral Fame To Cultural Impact
Rolling Ray first rose to fame in 2018 after appearing on MTV’s “Catfish: Trolls.”
His larger-than-life personality later went viral on “Divorce Court” with Judge Lynn Toler.
Along the way, Ray coined the term “purr,” a twist on the popular slang “period,” which became widely adopted in pop culture.
Health Struggles And Resilience
Despite his health battles, Ray never lost his spirit.
He used a wheelchair due to paralysis and had publicly shared his struggles with severe burns from a 2021 fire, COVID-19 and pneumonia in 2022, and more recently, pneumonia and a blood infection in August 2024.
A cause of passing has not been revealed.
