Rapper Silento Charged With Murdering His Cousin (Updated)

UPDATE: Silento has been indicted by a Georgia grand jury in the shooting death of his cousin.

The rapper has been hit with four felony charges, including one count of malice murder and one count of felony murder.

He has also been charged with gun possession during the commission of a felony and aggravated assault.

Silento remains in custody without a bond.

Silento has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of his cousin.

The  23-year-old Atlanta rapper, real name Ricky Lamar Hawk, was booked on one count of murder on Monday for the January 21 shooting death of his 34-year-old cousin, Frederick Rooks

Police responded to a shots fired call January 21 around 3:30 a.m. in the Panthersville area, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. They found Rooks dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, according to DeKalb police Lt. Rod Bryant.

An investigation revealed Silento was responsible for his cousin’s death.

He is currently booked in Dekalb County Jail. 

Silento has been spiraling out of control for months.

In September, he was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

A month later, the rapper was arrested for driving at excessive speeds on an Atlanta highway.

It is horrible that it has come to this.
