Quentin Tarantino Vowed To Never Give His Mom A Penny From His Success

I think that we all can agree that Quentin Tarantino is a special kind of dude.

Define “special” however you like.

But, one thing is for certain – Quentin Tarantino is a man of his word!

In a recent podcast interview, the movie director revealed he vowed to never give his mother, Connie Zastoupil, a dime once he became successful because she didn’t believe in his dreams.

Ms. Connie even went as far as to tell her son his “little writing career” (quote fingers) was over.

Quentin shared:

I go, ‘OK lady, when I become a successful writer, you will never see one penny from my success.

There will be no house for you. There’s no vacation for you, no Elvis Cadillac for mommy. You get nothing. Because you said that.’

There are consequences for your words as you deal with your children.

Remember there are consequences for your sarcastic tone about what’s meaningful to them.

Now, Quentin isn’t a complete block of ice.

He did throw his mama a little cash when she got jammed up by the IRS, but that’s about it!

I think the biggest takeaway from all of this is be mindful of how you speak to your children.

Speak life into their hopes and dreams. And if there comes a time when you have to keep it real with them…wrap it in love.
