Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was reportedly arrested by U.S. Marshals for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
Kenneth moved to California with his wife in July 2019, but failed to register as a sex offender.
He was pulled over in Beverly Hills on November 15. That’s when police discovered he was registered in New York, but not in Cali.
Kenneth was arrested and released on $20,000 bond. The Los Angeles District Attorney charged him with failing to register as a sex offender, which led to a federal court indictment for the same thing.
This stems back to Kenneth’s 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape. He served almost 4 years in prison and a condition of his release is he must register as a sex offender wherever he lives.
If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
UPDATE:
Kenneth Petty posted $100,000 bond and is required to wear an ankle monitor.
He was required to surrender his passport, his travel is restricted to Southern California, and he cannot use drugs of any kind.
Ken will remain under pretrial supervision until he appears in court on March 23.
