Nick Cannon is currently trending on social media as he and the Zeus Network are facing backlash for a “Dark Skin vs. Light Skin” event in Las Vegas.
The event, presented by Nick through his partnership with Zeus, also features a flyer featuring darker women on one side and lighter women on the other and notes that there will be a special performance by Sukihana.
I was taken aback when I saw the flyer on Lemuel Plummer’s Instagram page, who is the founder and CEO of the Zeus Network.
He was being flamed in the comments before sunrise.
Comments on the flyer included:
“Dark skin vs light skin” by a black owned network in 2023 is CRAZY!”
“This really degrading and weird AF!”
“So y’all promote, condone, finance, and capitalize off of colorism…GOT IT.”
“Hold on…like y’all FR thought this marketing was cool??”
Lemuel has since deleted the flyer from his page.
Nick Cannon is trending and catching 400-degree heat in the streets of Twitter over the colorist event.
One person tweeted, “Nick Cannon is a pathetic excuse for a Black man with his platform, and reach, to have his name associated with this colorist, low vibrational bulls—!”

Nick Cannon has not addressed the event or the backlash at the time of this post.
