The Light That Keeps Shining
When you sit down with Michole Briana White, you immediately feel it: the calm, the confidence, and the light.
The “BMF” star and singer-songwriter radiates gratitude, grounded energy, and a quiet power that comes from years of perseverance in Hollywood.
From “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” to “BMF,” Michole’s career is a masterclass in longevity and grace.
Now four seasons deep as Lucille Flenory on Starz’s hit series, she’s reflecting on growth, purpose, and peace while opening up about the music and mindfulness that keep her grounded.
“I Just Didn’t Quit”

When I caught up with Michole, she laughed about how surreal it feels to say “Season 4.”
“It’s even strange to say we’re in Season 4,” she said.
“But I’m thankful. This season, people have been even more responsive to Lucille, and she done got out of pocket and been a hot mess this season.”
But while fans debate Lucille’s choices, Michole’s approach to playing her remains rooted in empathy.
“We all have different sides of us,” she shared.
“No one is perfect, even though we put people on pedestals. I really enjoyed exploring Lucille’s flaws and still finding all the beauty in her.”
When asked how she’s managed to sustain such a long and consistent career in an industry that often isn’t kind to Black women, Michole was candid:
I just didn’t quit. I wanted to many, many times, and I was this close right before BMF.
But I reminded myself, I do this because I love it.
It’s like breathing for me.
Faith, 50 Cent, And Finding Balance
Of course, it wouldn’t be a “BMF” chat without a little talk about 50 Cent.
When asked if the cast feels caught in the middle of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s frequent sparring with Starz, Michole kept it classy:
All I can say is for Michole, I’m grateful to be here.
I love 50. He’s been extremely kind to me.
I just trust the journey.
That trust in divine timing shows up in everything she says.
Whether she’s on set, on stage, or in her living room, Michole leads with intention.
“You just have to be true to yourself,” she said.
“Meditate, stay connected, and don’t give your power to everyone on the outside.”
A Whole Vibe: The Music Side Of Michole
Beyond acting, Michole is also a powerhouse vocalist who recently lit up the stage at City Winery in Atlanta and Chicago.
“Music is another side of me that I love so much,” she told me.
“It brings up so much vulnerability because there’s nowhere to hide. It’s my voice, my truth.”
Performing live, she says, is “a transfer of energy in real time.”
“As an actor, you have the words. There’s a safety in that. But when I’m singing, it’s me, raw, naked, and present.”
And if you were lucky enough to catch her City Winery show, you know exactly what she means.
“It was such a vibe,” she said, smiling. “When I saw old classmates, family, even crew members from ‘BMF‘ in the crowd, it was pure love.”
Michole revealed she’s releasing new music soon.
“My EP is coming out very soon. I’ll be dropping a single next month and then another early next year.”
The Healing Power Of Meditation
If you’ve ever wondered how Michole keeps that radiant glow, it’s not just good lighting.
It’s meditation. “Even five minutes a day can change your whole energy,” she explained.
She described how simple awareness can shift anxiety.
“If I hear a bird, I say ‘hearing.’ If I feel the wind, I say ‘feeling.’ It puts you in the present moment.”
She also shared a practice she calls ‘What If’ visualization:
What if tonight’s performance is the best one ever?
What if the audience leaves feeling inspired?
When I ask those questions, my energy rises and everything starts aligning.
Honestly, it’s the kind of soul food we all need right now.
What’s Next For Michole Briana White
Between filming “BMF,” releasing her EP, and continuing her spiritual journey, Michole is living in gratitude and flow.
“I’m just thankful to still be here,” she said. “Every day I get to create, connect, and share my light, it’s a blessing.”
If there’s one thing Michole wants you to take away from her story, it’s that power lies in presence.
“Right now, it’s like this,” she said softly during our chat. “And now, it’s like this.”
