Megan Thee Stallion announced she is “taking a break” after learning her Los Angeles home was ransacked and robbed on Thursday.
The good news is no one was hurt, but it’s super disappointing that Megan’s home was violated and even more disheartening that she learned about the incident while she was in New York rehearsing for her big night on “Saturday Night Live.”
The Grammy Award-winning rapper will be pulling double duty on October 15 as the host and the special musical guest on “SNL.”
Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter while she was on a break from rehearsals and seemingly shared her reaction to learning about the robbery on her timeline.
She initially shared her excitement with a fan. Then, her next tweet was, “Wow.”
Moments later, Megan tweeted, “Material things can be replaced but I’m glad everyone is safe ???”
Then, Megan announced she was taking a break after her “SNL” gig.
“Hotties I’m really sorry but after SNL I really gotta take a break I’m so tired, physically and emotionally.”
According to TMZ, two men wearing hoodies and gloves smashed a glass back door of Megan Thee Stallion’s Los Angeles home to gain entry to the property.
Once inside, they went straight to the primary bedroom and ransacked it looking for valuables.
Law enforcement sources say the thieves stole an estimated $300-400K in jewelry, cash, and electronics from Megan’s home.
No arrests have been made, but surveillance video captured the break-in and an investigation is underway.
Megan Thee Stallion is currently trending on Twitter as people react to the robbery and her announcement about taking time off.
