Lil Uzi Vert cleared up the debate that DJ Drama started about his song, “Just Wanna Rock,” being the new Philly anthem over Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro).”
It only makes sense for DJ Drama to drum up more hype around Uzi’s hit song because Uzi is one of the artists on Generation Now.
The Atlanta-based record label, Generation Now, is owned by Philadelphia natives Tyree “DJ Drama” Simmons, Don Cannon, and Los Angeles native Leighton “Lake” Morrison.

After talking about his hair and his fashion sense, Lil Uzi Vert cleared up his feelings on the debate during an interview with Revolt on the 2023 Grammy red carpet.
When asked if he feels his hit song “Just Wanna Rock” has surpassed Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)” as the new Philly anthem, Uzi responded:
I don’t think so that song’s, like, been around for very along time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way.
I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple years, or a decade, or whatever that songs been around for a very long time, and that song still hits the same way.
So it’s like, you know, that’s the big homie from Philly, and that’s like, you know, one of my big homies…
So, I just, like, feed off of that energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music.
So, like, hopefully… like, sh*t!… Hopefully, he would hope that for me too, like yeah!…
Hopefully, but not yet though it’s too early to tell.
