Jeannie Mai Jenkins opened up a bit about her divorce from Jeezy during an appearance on the “Sherri Shepherd” show.
It’s been a month since the rapper and author filed for divorce to end his 2-year marriage to Jeannie.
In his filing, Jeezy said he and Jeannie Mai were “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”

Unfortunately, Jeannie was forced back into the public eye due to her obligation to promote her new CBS game show, “Raid the Cage,” where she co-hosts alongside Damon Wayans, Jr.
Sherri Shepherd, who also went through a painful divorce from her son’s father divorced her, did her very best to create a safe space for Jeannie, who is still fragile.
When asked how she was doing while going through the divorce, Jeannie Mai said:
I’m not going to lie…you know it takes every day to just really sit and just be quiet in your thoughts, take care of me, but one thing I know is you give God your pain and he will give you his power. Period.
She added that she’s taking it “day by day.”

Jeannie shared that after Jeezy filed for divorce, she unplugged.
After that moment, I just turned off every single device in my house and I really tuned into the voices I really needed to hear – which was me and the truth!
Jeannie Mai also credited her daughter Monaco for helping her get through this tough time.
Monaco, that is my North Star.
And I can definitely tell you that I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her because today I’m able to look at her and I can say, ‘What would I advise you if you were in my shoes?’ And it changes everything.
