Jazmine Sullivan scooped not one, but two well-deserved Grammys on Sunday night.
The 34-year-old singer/songwriter’s fan-favorite “Pick Up Your Feelings” won a Grammy for R&B Performance.
Jazmine also won a Grammy for Best R&B Album for Heaux Tales.
During her acceptance speech, Jazmine shared:
I wrote this project to deal with my own shame and forgiveness around some of the decisions I made in my twenties that weren’t favorable.
But, what it ended up being was a safe space for Black women to tell their stories…for us to learn from each other, laugh with each other, and not be exploited at the same time.
