Stand-up comedian and “Bust Down” star Jak Knight passed away on Thursday night, and we are now learning his devastating cause of death.
According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner, the 28-year-old, whose real name is Jakim Mualana, died of a gunshot wound to the head.
His body was found on an embankment in Boyle Heights around 8:33 p.m.
Jak’s death has been ruled a suicide.
The news of Jak Knight’s death sent shockwaves through social media as his friends, fans, and those who had the pleasure of knowing or working with him expressed their grief and paid their respects.
A joint statement from his “Bust Down” family, Peacock and Universal Television read, “We are devastated by the passing of Jak Knight.”
“He was a brilliant comedian, visionary and artist and we were all lucky to experience his greatness. Our hearts are with Jak’s family, friends and community during this heartbreaking time.”
