Jacob Blake’s family cannot believe the officer who shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back and paralyzed him from the waist down returned to work without punishment, after an investigation.
According to a media release from the Kenosha Police Department, the August 23, 2020 incident was investigated by an outside agency, an independent expert, and the Kenosha County District Attorney who all determined that Officer Rusten Sheskey was acting within policy and will not be subjected to discipline.
Sheskey was cleared to return to work on Tuesday.
The Kenosha police chief stated he knows some will not be pleased with the outcome of the investigation.
I know that some will not be pleased with the outcome; however, given the facts, the only lawful and appropriate decision was made.
Here we go with the BS again!
So it’s justifiable for a black man to get shot in the back seven times and lose the use of his lower extremities forever because a police officer cannot do his job properly?…
Of course, they are going to have each other’s back if they are conducting the investigation. Their motto is to “Protect The Shield.”
The Blakes family lawyer B’Ivory LaMarr stated that the only way to truly change things is to go beyond protesting and start pushing for reform.
As if the government is not corrupt as well.
What lawyer LaMarr needs to realize is that the protests are out of frustration from the political side as well. There have been numerous proposed police brutality and social injustice reform laws rejected by lawmakers statewide.
Hopefully, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act passes on the federal level. If passed it would implement long-overdue changes in policing in this country on a federal level, and become the new standard statewide.
