Well, here’s some promising news on a Monday. The House has passed the Caring for Americans with Supplemental Help (CASH) Act of 2020 to increase the stimulus payment from $600 to $2,000 per individual.
Eligibility will be determined by a person’s most recent tax returns.
Anyone who made under $75,000 as an individual or $150,000 as a couple will receive the full amount of the stimulus payment.
If you made over $75,000 your payment will decrease $5 per every $100 over the $75,000.
Individuals who made over $99,000 and couples who made more than $198,000 will not be eligible for payments.
Now that the bill has passed the House it will head to Mitch McConnell for him to decide whether or not to bring the provision to the floor in the Senate.
*UPDATE*
Mitch did exactly what folks thought he would do…he blocked the bill to increase the stimulus payment to $2,000.
