Halloween Kills has been pushed back another year.

Last July, the studio announced they were filming two more sequels for the legendary franchise.

Jamie Lee Curtis is set to reprise her role as Michael Myers’ arch-nemesis, Laurie Strode.

Halloween Kills was slated to open in theaters on October 16, 2020, but thanks to Rona, the film has been pushed back until October 15, 2021.

Legendary filmmaker John Carpenter took to Twitter to share his disappointment in the film being pushed back, but noted it was the best decision because “the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience.”

Jamie added:

I am as disappointed as you are. Mostly because the movie the David has created from the characters that John and Debra created Is a masterpiece. Prescient and powerful. I promise you it will be worth the wait.

The delayed release will push the final installment, Halloween Ends, back to 2022.
