Godfather of Harlem Season 4

Open up my window again…MGM+ has exciting news for fans of the Emmy-winning drama series “Godfather of Harlem.”

Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker will be reprising his role as Bumpy Johnson in the recently greenlit fourth season.

Co-created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein (“Narcos“), this 10-episode season is set to start production in New York next year and is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.

In Season 4, Bumpy Johnson, portrayed by Forest Whitaker, intensifies his battle for control over Harlem against New York’s Mafia families.

The plot thickens with the arrival of a potential rival, Black gangster Frank Lucas.

Bumpy also faces challenges following the tragic death of Malcolm X (Jason Alan Carvell) and must grapple with his daughter Elise’s (Antoinette Crowe-Legacy) involvement with the Black Panthers.

Forest Whitaker’s inspired performance as Bumpy Johnson has introduced an iconic, archetypal television antihero to the premium television landscape,” remarks Michael Wright, head of MGM+. “The cast and creative team exceed expectations every single season, both creatively and cinematically. We couldn’t be more delighted to embark on a fourth season with this incredibly talented group of people.”

Chris Brancato, co-creator, expresses his gratitude for the creative partnership with MGM+ and ABC Signature. He dedicates this season to Paul Eckstein, his friend and co-creator, who passed away unexpectedly this summer.

Forest Whitaker shares his excitement about returning to set, saying, “After such a long time away, I’m so excited to be returning to set alongside such an incredible cast, crew, and creative team, under the powerful leadership of Chris Brancato. We’re so appreciative of Michael Wright’s support at MGM+, and thrilled that Godfather of Harlem has resonated with fans around the world. We can’t wait to get to work on season four!

Season 4 will not only feature Forest Whitaker, but also bring back familiar faces, including Ilfenesh Hadera, Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, and Erik LaRay Harvey.

Whitaker, in addition to his starring role, serves as an executive producer for the series.

Stay tuned for more updates on “Godfather of Harlem” Season 4, as the acclaimed series continues to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and exceptional performances.
