“Queens Court” star Evelyn Lozada is engaged to Lavon Lewis, a finalist on the brand new Peacock dating series.
According to People, Lavon, who is a marketing firm cofounder, popped the question on Evelyn’s birthday (December 10) at a small gathering of friends and family in Los Angeles.
The thing about Evelyn is, it is very hard to surprise her. I told her to pack her bags, we’re going somewhere. She was blindfolded until she got to the front door.
She walked in to about 20 close friends and family and the big ‘marry me’ letters, roses on the ground, things like that.
The proposal also featured a custom cake that had “Happy Birthday” on one side and “She Said ‘Yes’” on the other.
Evelyn Lozada admits she had no idea he was going to propose and the alpha female in her caused her to be a tad irritated.
I didn’t know that he was going to propose that day. I didn’t know what I was walking into.
He was being very sneaky and, in all honesty, I was a little irritated because I’m such an alpha female and I’m kind of like, why do I have to pack? Why do I have to do this?
It was really, really difficult for me to just let go and allow him to do his thing.
But, she was very happy with the Twila True engagement ring Lavon Lewis picked out for her.
It was the perfect size and shape. I’ve never had that stone, so he did a really, really good job.
But I’m not surprised. Lavon is a creative mind and he doesn’t forget anything.
Lavon currently resides in Atlanta but says once his 13-year-old son Jordan enters high school, he plans to relocate to Los Angeles where Evelyn Lozada lives.
Evelyn gushed about how Jordan and her 8-year-old son, Leo, are “two peas in a pod.”
In the morning, Jordan would be sleeping and Leo would want to wake him up to go on the trampoline at 7:30 in the morning.
With “Queens Court,” mega-producer Will Packer brought together 3 famous, single women for an epic new dating series starring Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada, and Nivea.
Hollywood power couple Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete host the 10-episode series, guiding the Queens through the ups and downs of dating 21 confident and successful prospective suitors while the Queens develop a sisterhood supporting each other on their quests to find a King fit for a Queen.
Lavon Lewis admits when he received the call to go on the show he didn’t believe in the process, but he embarked on the adventure anyway.
Before the show started, I told my friends that I don’t believe in the process. I came on the show thinking, ‘They called me, this is a new adventure. It’ll be fun.
I’m a pretty private, introverted person, but why not do something new? You can’t find love in this type of process? It’s impossible?’
Now, he’s encouraging others to trust the process.
I would challenge people to think outside of the box and have faith and push themselves.
I didn’t think I would go into it and come out of it with a wife.
But look at what happens when you open yourself up and challenge yourself and step up to the plate.
While I’m happy for Evelyn Lozada and Lavon Lewis, I’m a little baffled as to why they would announce their engagement on the very same day “Queens Court” premieres on Peacock.
Anywho…
This will be the second marriage for Evelyn, who was briefly married to former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.
Congrats!
