Dave Chappelle is the latest celebrity to end up on the Antisemitism Summer Jam screen.

The 49-year-old legendary comedian is receiving backlash for his “Saturday Night Live” monologue where he talked about a number of things including Kanye West‘s antisemitic fallout, Kyrie Irving‘s debacle after posting the link to a documentary that has been labeled antisemitic, Donald Trump, and more.

Dave opened his monologue by saying, “I denounce antisemitism in all its forms and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community. And that Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time.”

Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, took to Twitter and called out “SNL” for basically allowing Dave Chappelle to normalize and popularize antisemitism.

He tweeted, “We shouldn’t expect

@DaveChappelle to serve as society’s moral compass, but disturbing to see

@nbcsnl not just normalize but popularize #antisemitism. Why are Jewish sensitivities denied or diminished at almost every turn? Why does our trauma trigger applause?”

See the tweet below.

One person responded to Jonathan’s tweet writing:

You all are overplaying this antisemitism trope and it appears to be with black men ONLY. This isn’t about religion, it’s about white supremacy being practiced under the guise of it. Save this energy for the guys with tiki torches screaming they refuse to be replaced by you.

But, Jonathan Greenblatt wasn’t the only one upset about Dave Chappelle’s opening monologue on “SNL.”
