The 56-year-old actress and singer, known and loved for her iconic roles in “A Different World” and countless voice-acting projects, says menopause has actually improved her sex life.
Yes, you read that right.
Cree Summer On Why Sex Is Better Now
Cree dropped the gems while chatting with Erika Alexander and Kim Coles on the “ReLiving Single Podcast.”
She shared that in her younger years, sex often felt “performative,” but now it is about being fully present.
I’m having better sex now than I ever had in my life.
I think I enjoyed sex when I was younger, but it was performative many times.
Something had to get me loose or set me free.
At this age, everything is where it is.
It doesn’t look like it used to, but it feels better because I don’t have the ability to put on a performance.
Cree explained that menopause forced her body out of her control in a way that made her let go of the pressure to “pose” or “pretend.”
Instead, she is embracing authenticity, presence, and even a little bold curiosity when it comes to intimacy.
Erika Alexander Cosigns The Glow Up
During the candid chat, Erika Alexander beautifully summed it up:
The rose is at its best bloom and that’s when we’re the most shy.
And then when it starts to sort of devolve or fall apart, that’s when we’re open.
Cree wholeheartedly agreed, saying she has become less shy, more open, and willing to “try all kinds of things.”
