Well, this escalated quickly. Less, than a week after being suspended from CNN for his involvement in his brother’s sexual harassment scandal, Chris Cuomo has been fired.

Chris was working as an unpaid aide to his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo when he was accused of sexual harassment.

The CNN anchor allegedly sought to use his connections in the press to help prepare Andrew Cuomo’s team as accusers started to make their stories public.

You may recall, during the height of the scandal, he told his viewers:

I’m not an adviser. I’m a brother. I wasn’t in control of anything. I was there to listen and offer my take.

But, that wasn’t the case, according to the statement released by CNN.

Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.

Chris took to social media to react to getting fired saying that he is disappointed.

This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother. So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN’s #1 show in the most competitive time slot. I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work.

While I’m disappointed as well by the news of Chris Cuomo’s termination, it comes as no surprise especially after he was hit with his own accusations of sexual misconduct.

Do you feel like Chris Cuomo played himself or is it family over everything?
