It’s with great joy that I report Carlee Russell has been found!
Hoover 911 was called around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday night when the 25-year-old Alabama nursing student returned to the home she shares with her parents.
Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said Carlee Russell showed up alone “in shock” and she was taken by paramedics to a hospital for evaluation.
No information about where Carlee’s condition or where she has been for the past two days has been released.
“Additional information will be provided when it becomes available,” a police statement read.
Friends and family members remained outside UAB’s emergency room early until Sunday morning.
Carlee Vanished After Calling 911
I previously reported Carlee Russell called 911 on Thursday night when she saw a small child on the side of Interstate 459.
She pulled over to assist the child and called her brother’s girlfriend.
At some point during the call, the girlfriend heard Carlee scream and only the sound of interstate traffic afterward.
Responding officers found Carlee Russell’s red Mercedes – still running.
Her hat, wig, and cell phone were on the ground and the rest of her belongings were in the car.
There was no trace of Carlee or the child she saw on the interstate.
For two days, all hands were on deck searching for Carlee and a $25,000 reward for her return was offered.
