Roda Osman (aka “Brick Lady”), the woman who went viral after she claimed a man attacked her with a brick outside of a Houston nightclub, is now facing charges for scamming her supporters.
Osman, 33, is facing felony charges of theft by deception after collecting over $42,302 from online supporters via a GoFundMe campaign.
Police said when they arrived at the scene on September 3, 2023, Roda Osman was visibly under the influence and angry after a night out with a friend.
In the original report, Osman claimed she was walking and an unknown man hit her with a brick after she refused to give him her phone number.
She also told police she ordered an Uber and thought the driver was trying to kidnap her when she got into the car with him.
After the assault, Roda took to Instagram Live to share what happened to her and the jarring swelling to one side of her head.
Police later obtained surveillance footage that told a different story.
The video showed Roda Osman engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with a man.
Court documents say she hit the man in the face with an unknown object following an argument outside of the lounge. After that, the man hit her in the face with what appeared to be a water bottle.
(That water bottle must’ve been frozen solid!)
The man then left the scene with another man.
