‘Black Panther 2’ To Begin Shooting In July 2021, Shuri Expected To Have Prominent Role

Marvel is preparing to move forward with Black Panther 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Panther 2 will begin shooting in Atlanta in July that is expected to last for about six months.

Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, who was one of the stars of Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico, is in talks to play one of the antagonist, sources tell THR

Production on the film was initially slated to begin in March 2021, but the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman was a heartbreaking blow the entire world is still coming to terms with.

The film’s executive producer Victoria Alonso shut down rumors that claimed they were planning to use a digital double for Chadwick’s likeness in the sequel.

No. There’s only one Chadwick, and he’s no longer with us.

Sadly, our king has died in real life, not only in fiction, and we’re taking a little time to see how we continue the story and how to honor this chapter of what has unexpectedly happened to us, so painful and terrible to be honest.

Chadwick wasn’t only a wonderful human being, every day of the 5 years we spent together, but also, I believe, that what he did as a character elevated us as a company, and has left his moment on history.

Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel.

Wright’s character, Shuri, is expected to take on a more prominent role.

I will keep you posted as more Black Panther 2 news becomes available.
