Apple TV+ has revealed a sneak peek at their upcoming limited series, “Lady in the Lake,” featuring Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and Emmy Award nominee Moses Ingram.
Portman, who also serves as executive producer, joins forces with Ingram in this gripping seven-part series set to debut globally on Apple TV+.
The series is set to premiere with its first two episodes on Friday, July 19, 2024, followed by new episodes every Friday through August 23, 2024.
Set in Baltimore during Thanksgiving 1966, “Lady in the Lake” delves into the mysterious disappearance of a young girl, intertwining the lives of two women on a dangerous collision course.
Natalie Portman takes on the role of Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish housewife with a hidden past who embarks on a journey to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist.
Moses Ingram portrays Cleo Sherwood, a mother navigating the complexities of Black Baltimore’s political landscape while struggling to provide for her family.
As their paths converge and Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo’s enigmatic death, a dangerous rift opens up, putting those around them in peril.
Directed by Alma Har’el, known for her visionary storytelling, “Lady in the Lake” promises to be a feverish noir thriller intertwined with a poignant narrative about the sacrifices women make to chase their dreams.
Joining Portman and Ingram in the cast are Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
The series is produced by FIFTH SEASON in collaboration with Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America.
Har’el and Christopher Leggett are the creators, executive producers, writers, and directors of the series, with Portman serving as executive producer alongside Sophie Mas.
The late Jean-Marc Vallée, Nathan Ross, and Julie Gardner also contribute as executive producers, ensuring a stellar production team behind this compelling story.
